The Faces
This time of year I find myself caught up in the same things that everyone else must. About December 15th I keep saying, "I can't wait 'till this over." I took these pictures Christmas morning and haven't given them a second look since. Today I pulled them up and realized that this is what it was all about. The excitment. The satisfaction. The best part of being a parent. I know that it is just stuff, but Chris and I work very hard to get the stuff. The faces say it all. On the same note Chris and I would like to announce that this next time next year, we will have another face to document. We are expecting another baby in July. . . keep your fingers crossed for the girl. Happy Holidays everyone. I hope you all get at least one reason to light up like this.

Jake Loggins Band
This past weekend I shot images of The Jake Loggins Band at Oscar's in downtown Colorado Springs. I met Oscar's owner Phil a while back and he asked if I could come in and shoot the next time that this particular band played. After going to the show, I know why Phil wanted me there. The house was packed and they put on a great show. I will definitely be attending another of their gigs when I get a chance. If you haven't been to Oscar's you should check them out. They have great food and atmosphere, not to mention that draft beer is always 2 for 1. They are located at the corner of Costilla and Tejon downtown. To see a few more images of the band click here.

Independent Best of 2006

The Independent Photographers Network of Colorado had the honor of shooting the The Independent's Best of 2006 party at the Briarhurst Manor this week. Above is a picture of my friend Serge (a.k.a. Dj Spider) spinning at the party. To see more images of the event click on the link below.

Family Time

Chris and I took full advantage of decent weather on Saturday to do some family portraits for some of her co-workers. It was a bit chilly, but not bad for December. We all met up at Monument Valley Park downtown for the shoot. I promise the clients I'll have their images to them soon. . .

Congratulations to Jeremy and Mary
Mary and Jeremy were married this past Tuesday December 5th at Pinecrest in Palmer Lake Colorado. The intimate ceremony was followed by a dinner and dancing at the same venue. Special thanks to J.K Schofield for working with me in place of my wife, Christy, who was ill and unable to go with me. J.K.'s a very accomplished local photographer who's work can be seen at http://www.studiosjk.com/

Halloween Fun. Our Dracula and Captain America.

Pumpkins - Cooler than yours.

I am a little behind getting pictures up from Halloween, but better late than never. Starting from the right they are a Teenage Mutant Turtle, the middle is of course Yoda, and the left is artist Sheppard Fairey's rendering of Andre the Giant. If you are not familiar with Sheppard's work or the Giant campaign, do yourself a favor and check it out. Sheppard is by far one of the most influential artists of our time. Chances are you have seen his work and didn't even realize it. You can read all about him and his work by visiting ObeyGiant.com

Family Fun

Chris and I had a great time doing portraits for the Santos family this past weekend. We took advantage of the soon to be fleeting beautiful weather and headed to Monument Valley Park for the sitting. The family was super cooperative and up for anything. This cooperation always makes our job easier and ultimately leads to better images for our clients.

Congratulations Lauren and Kenny
Lauren and Kenny were married this past Saturday at St. Patrick's in Colorado Springs. The wedding was followed with a quick (and rather chilly) photo shoot at the Garden of Gods prior to their reception at the Antler's Hilton downtown. The couple and their wedding party were super cooperative for the outdoor photos despite the cold weather.

One tooth down. . .

So Little Logen lost his first tonight. . . with very little fuss. Of course Chris had to point out "Remember when he was just getting these?" Our little guy is getting so big. He was extremely excited because it just another step to being a "big boy" in his mind. Of course he had no problem posing for a few pictures either.

A Trip to the Pumpkin Patch
Today our youngest Logen got to participate in what has become a tradition in Colorado Springs; a trip the the pumpkin patch at Venetucci Farm. Chris and I both have fond memories of taking trips to the farm as children to pick out our Halloween pumpkins. I know that for a few years the tradition was stopped, but has had a bit of a resurrection due to community support. Those of you in the Springs may know that there is a statue of Nick Venetucci located downtown between the Pioneer's Museum and the Plaza of The Rockies. If you are not familiar with the Venteucci family and their history in the community, do yourself a favor and take some time to look into it.

Congratulations Mark & Keri

This weekend I photographed the wedding reception of Mark and Keri. The couple was married several months ago, but delayed the reception so that more family and friends would be able to attend. Prior to the reception we had a photo session with the bride and groom and their immediate families. Following those pictures at a park on Colorado Springs' north side, we headed to the Luau themed reception at the Academy Hotel.

New Work On Display
I have six recent images now on display in the Atrium of the Antler's Hilton in downtown Colorado Springs. The display is open to the public and will be up for the next three months. The display is a continuation of past shows done by Take Seven. Other photographers on display include: JK Schofield of Studio JK, Tamera Goldsmith of Click Photography, Walt Palmer of Walt Palmer Photography, Wendy Pearce Nelson of Blue Fox Photography, Patti Healy-Kelly of PHK Photographic Arts, Sandra Elliot of Natural Expressions, and Lise Hunt. The Antler's Hilton is located at Cascade and Pikes Peak downtown. The exhibit is free so if you are in the area, please check it out.

Congratulations Theo & Abbie
Last night Chris and I had the honor of shooting the wedding of Theo and Abbie at the Assumption Greek Orthodox Chapel in Denver. The Cathedral was absolutely stunning. One of the things I enjoy most about my job is being exposed to the various cultures and customs of our clients. I had never attended a Greek Orthodox ceremony prior to this so I wasn't quite sure what to expect. I have to say that the entire event was beautiful. The ceremony was followed by an intimate reception at the Downtown Aquarium. To see more images from this event, please click here.

Doggy Halloween

With Halloween only about a month away, Chris decided we should probaly start looking for costumes for the boys. We also ended up with costumes for the dogs. Apparently this year Chloe wanted to be Wonder Woman and the Mighty Mos Dog had his eye on Superman. Logen is going to be Captain America, so we definitely have a Superhero theme going. As of press time, Trenten is still undecided.

This past weekend I was honored to shoot engagement pictures for Chris and Holly. We shot the pictures at Helen Hunt Falls. Chris and Holly are planning a summer of 2007 wedding.

One of my personal heroes is Henry Rollins. In the last few interviews I have heard with him he has talked about the case of the West Memphis Three. It's is a very intersting circumstance that I think deserves as much attention as possible. It's ridiculous that in this country this kind of injustice survives. Please take some time to make yourself aware of their plight.

Congratulations To Our Dear Friends Brian & Kelly
Brian and Kelly were married on Sunday July 30th, 2006 at Pinecrest. It was the beautiful day that this couple deserved. I was honored to document the wedding of one of my oldest friends. I have known Brian since were in Cub Scouts together about 20 years ago.
Little Logen goes to school. Our youngest started kindergarten this week. Chris took the day off to see him off to school. I was worried about her, but she handled it like a champ.

I have been promising those in the picture that I would get this up somewhere, so I figure this is the perfect outlet. I didn't know who the guy on the right was, so I turned him into John Stamos.
